Housing Forward's HMIS New User Training Series

HMIS New User Training is required for full access to ClientTrack HMIS. The process to complete training and the required courses are listed on this page. Please contact [email protected] with training questions!

HMIS New User Training Process

  • Training Request

HMIS Security Officers submit a training request for a new user. Our HMIS Team approved the request, then our training team manually enrolls the user in the bundle of HMIS New User Training courses.

  • Course & Practice Task Completion

Learners must complete HMIS 101, 102 and 103, then attend a Data Entry Practice session to earn their certificate. Sessions are held every Thursday, alternating in-person and virtual options.

  • HMIS Access Granted

Users who earn their certificate will be sent HMIS account information via the help desk ticket they opened during training. Our HMIS team aims to respond to all tickets within 1-2 business days.

Self-paced Courses in HMIS New User Training

Once learners are enrolled, these courses can be completed at any time by the user.
Learners are prompted to sign up for Data Entry Practice sessions upon completing HMIS 103.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our HMIS administrators review all submitted requests on Fridays. Any request submitted by noon on Fridays will be reviewed and, if approved, the requested user will be enrolled in training the next business day (typically Monday, barring holidays and office closures).
After HMIS 103, you will need to sign up to attend a data entry practice session. You can access the registration form for these sessions using the last lesson of HMIS 103.
